My practice
Many ways
to tell a story.
I’m Alex Marshall Parsons, an artist, performer, director, filmmaker and teacher. My practice brings together contemporary dance, physical theatre and script to create live performances, tell stories through movement and build encounters with an audience. My work spans outdoor arts, original stage productions and film.
As a working-class, LGBT+ and neurodivergent artist, I make work rooted in relatability, inclusiveness and sustainability. I want audiences to recognise something of themselves in the stories I tell and feel welcome to be part of them.
I hold a BA (Hons) in Dance, Drama & Aerial Performance and was nominated for Best Male Dancer at the Wales Theatre Critics Awards. I also directed and edited the Brecon Carreg #SavetheMermaids campaign with Kitsch & Sync Collective, which won Marketing Campaign of the Year at The National Wales Awards.

Artistic leadership & producing
From an idea
to an audience.
Alongside my work as a performer, I lead the development and delivery of my own productions: securing funding, building creative partnerships and producing tours. Through AlMarPar Theatre and Gary & Pel Live Action Cartoon, I have built a body of work spanning theatre, outdoor arts and digital experiences.
